Message I picked up an A'pex-i EL series (the first EL series) EGT & Boost gauge last night from a friend who had them leftover from a groupbuy. I am pulling the motor out Saturday to get the heads rebuilt, and plan on installing the EGT gauge while the motor is out (since it's pretty much impossible to do w/ the motor in). I am planning on putting the probe on the drivers side exhaust manifold to monitor the ever-troublesome #6 cylinder. My dilemna now is whether or not I should get a 2nd EGT gauge. I have talked to several other enthusiasts (who were non-Z owners) and the general consensus seems to be that you really only need to monitor the cylinder that runs the hottest on a V configuration motor. I am also hampered by the fact that I am still scraping together loose change (and even started a 2nd job this week) to get the money together for the head rebuild (and will be saving towards a shortblock to be installed hopefully this winter). A matching gauge is getting harder to find because of the fact that it is the first gen. EL series gauge and they are no longer made, and if they can be found they are in the neighborhood of $260. So, should I try to man-whore myself out some more to get a 2nd EGT gauge, or will the one on #6 truly be sufficient? Sorry for the long post, but I have worked over 40 hours since Monday morning and have had only about 15 hours of sleep in that period, so I am dragging along today.

Thanks,

Rich
